- Looking at the vote share of last Somalia’s Presidential Election 2017, the candidate has high chance of forming a government/had an impact on the outcome of presidential election 2017.
- The candidate has held a position of running a government nationally or regionally.
- Female candidate (Preserve 2021/22 Somali national election pledge of 30% of women (quota) in Somali parliament) –
- The candidate has met requirement for registration and has paid the election fee of $25,000 (desirable but not essential)
- The candidate is actively campaigning for the office of President
- The candidate has an established national organisational structure -(desirable but not essential at this election cycle 2022)

- The candidate held government office as a minister position or civil servant
- Female candidate (Preserve 2021/22 Somali national election pledge of 30% of women (quota) in Somali parliament) –
- The candidate has met requirement for registration and has paid the election fee of $25,000 (Desirable but not essential)
- The candidate is actively campaigning for the office of President
- The candidate has an established national organisational structure -(desirable but not essential at this election cycle 2022)
